Location
Village of Fontana, WI Client Fontana Community Development Authority Project PDI is working with the Community Development Authority to implement their Comprehensive Plan and tax incremental finance (TIF) projects. Downtown Identity While preserving and improving the quality of environmental amenities, PDI's Redevelopment Plan creates a distinctive identity for the downtown area, which borders State Highway 67, and provides a pedestrian-safe environment. Linking the Lakefront The Plan also creates a safe path system that links the lakefront area to the school, redevelops the lakefront to enhance park spaces, and emphasizes views of the lake. Pedestrian-Friendly Character Plan concepts include redesigning the highway to include a boulevard, landscaping, and traffic calming and pedestrian features. A "village center" is created with small shops, gardens and pedestrian paths. Waterfront Amenities The lakefront is enhanced with new community facilities at the water's edge, park amenities, landscaped parking plazas and improved circulation for boat traffic. |
