Kenosha's 52nd Street corridor provides a critical link between the downtown and the I-94 Interstate.

The 1991 Kenosha Downtown Plan (prepared by PDI) recognized that a lifeline to the interstate is critical if the downtown is to effectively compete with development activity in the outlying areas. The 52nd Street arterial plan provides a series of guidelines and critical actions for this 7-mile corridor - one of the only direct links from the freeway system to Lake Michigan.

The plan also envisions the revitalization of the corridor as a catalyst for surrounding neighborhood development.
