PDI developed an educational project that explored innovative approaches to shopping mall redevelopment. The case study is a regional indoor mall in an older Milwaukee neighborhood.

In the proposed plan, the mall is connected to the surrounding neighborhood and establishes a presence on the major arterials. The plan integrates the existing street network, incorporates light rail transit, accommodates urban retail and "big box" development, and includes multi-family housing.

The redeveloped mixed-use neighborhood is an accessible and attractive place to live, work, and shop.
