Havenwoods is a four-square-mile community in the City of Milwaukee that includes a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial uses, along with a state forest preserve.

The Havenwoods Economic Development Corporation, acting on the recommendations in their 2001 Redevelopment Strategy, contracted PDI to prepare streetscape and identity enhancement concepts for the community.

Through a series of public workshops involving residents and business owners, PDI helped the community form a unified vision for their future. Using input from the community, PDI produced several urban design concepts to increase the vitality of the Silver Spring Drive commercial area, integrate the variety of uses found in the community, and strengthen the identity and beauty of the community through physical improvements that more clearly connect the community to the Havenwoods State Forest Preserve.
