Town of Blooming Grove Land Use Plan
Blooming Grove Land Use
The Town of Blooming Grove is located in central Dane County, adjacent to the Cities of Madison and Monona. The Town consists of a series of islands that are rapidly dissolving due to rapid growth in the region.

To determine land use goals and assess how to best preserve the Town's identity, PDI used public meetings and workshops to address social, economic and physical factors.

The primary goals for the Town of Blooming Grove include:
  • Protect environmental resources
  • Permit controlled residential and commercial development where appropriate
  • Establish cooperative planning with surrounding communities
The land use plan addresses the diversity of neighborhoods in Blooming Grove by creating Land Use Districts unique to the conditions of each node.

Each land use district reflects the type of land development appropriate for a specific area. Performance standards for each district identify how a sense of place is created and what it should feel like.

Unlike traditional zoning ordinances, these districts are not just for land use; instead, they represent types of development. Graphics illustrations throughout the plan help explain concepts and recommendations.
